I have so many pictures of this guy - so I just grabbed a few of the hundreds of cute ones I have!

Being a mom is the most amazing thing to ever happen to me. Everyone always said having children changes you. I don't think you can comprehend what they mean until you have one. I thought I knew what to expect because of my love for Arianna. I wondered how could I ever love someone as much as I love her? Now I get it. People even said when he got here it would be like he's been here the whole time. Another thing I couldn't comprehend. I have lived 26 years without this kid, how is it possible once he gets here that it's going to be like he's been here forever? Well, they were right. I can barely remember what life was like before him.

I've never loved being or doing something as much as I love being his mom. Even the hard times I'm just so grateful.
His 2am play time dates, his disaster messes that follow him where ever he goes, him slapping me in the face or kicking me in the back at night, the inability to get ready because he wants to play with all my makeup and cries if I don't let him, the fits he throws in the car, the worry and anxiety he gives me....doesn't even bother me. I love being a mom. Its hard, challenging, humbling, but so rewarding.

When we brought him home from the hospital it was just Alex, Cooper and me. We were in our little apartment sitting on the couch and the radio was playing in the kitchen. It was so calm. Nine long months of waiting and now here he was in our arms. Here we were. A family.
We were just staring at him when a song came on the radio that couldn't have been more perfect. It was like a scene from a movie.
Cristina Perry's 'A Thousand Years'
I have died every day waiting for you,
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you for a thousand years
I love you for a thousand more.
All along I believed I would find you,
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years,
I love you for a thousand more.

We both cried possibly the happiest tears (aside from when you were born) of our lives. Right then in that moment our lives could not have been more complete. And until the day comes that we decide to have more babies, our life is full and complete.
I never want to get too comfortable being a mom. It's an experience many never get to have that want it so badly. I feel so fortunate to be called his mom.

My only sunshine.
