My Inspiration

This little one was born with two holes in her heart, and a rare (I mean rare) chromosome disorder. Before she was born the doctors told us she would be down syndrome because of the chromosome disorder. After an Amniocentesis it was determined that she was not down syndrome.  After that, they told us she would most likely be born with severe physical deformities.
Arianna was born on January 10, 2006.  A beautiful 10 toed 10 fingered baby. Not one 'severe' deformity about her.
She lived in Indiana from birth-14 months. She and my mom came back to SLC in April 2007, to prepare for her open heart surgery at Primary Children's Medical Center.  She had her surgery at 18 months old, and despite complications, rocked it like you wouldn't believe.
She was mis-diagnosed with learning and developmental delays due to her late surgery and chromosome disorder, but in May 2011 she was diagnosed with PDD-NOS, an autism spectrum disorder.  Since then, we have been able to get Arianna the help and treatment she needs to thrive.  She has made so many improvements in the past year, it's hard to believe its the same little super girl.

Technically? She is my niece. However, our mom has had full guardianship of her since August 2007, and so she's always been more to me than my brothers kid.  She is my little sister. My Lil Mini.
I would move heaven and earth for this little wonder girl!
She is 1/2 of what makes my life worth living for (other half being Alex!)
