Can I just say I love my new living location? We are about the length of a couple football fields away from Trax making my life easier on those nights out on the town (drunk ass), only 10 minutes from work (left this morning at 7:45 and clocked in right at 8:00...shhyess!), and about a mile from the freeway giving me faster access to Arianna.
What else you ask? Winco. Yep, I said it. Winco.
I am literally l/4 a mile from the 24hr grocery store harboring creatures that make the "people of WalMart" look attractive (I include myself in this stereotype:::keep reading).
Now, people will often hear me say that I'm better than Winco because I had a traumatic experience once in their produce section while searching for fuzz-less strawberries, and another when I exited the restroom behind a lady who didn't wash her hands and then proceeded to molest every piece of produce with her nasty ass hepatitis infected hands.
So, why is it so awesome that I live walking distance from this magical place?
I'll tell you....
Last night at about 7pm the fridge ran out of beer. It was a conflict because both myself and Alex were about as tipsy as high school kids get on prom night after drinking wine coolers.
Shit. It's only 7 on Sunday and all we have is hard liquor in the cupboard. One of us probably could have drove, but after I crashed Indra's BMW last thing I should be doing is driving while semi-intoxicated.
Crisis averted :::: From our front porch we can see the bright neon glow of Winco shining in the distance. I threw on some sneakers and we booked it.
Now, a weekend of moving into our new place, I was tired. Exhausted actually. Drunk, full of chips and salsa, and exhausted. I hate grocery store shopping, and I hate grocery store shopping even more when I'm uncomfortable.
Then, like a ginger standing in a crowd of asians, I once again was presented with an obvious solution to my dilemma of laziness.
Alex told me someone was going to say something and kick me off. Bull shit. Who's going to question a homeless looking girl with dark glasses on her 'handicap' reason for using the COURTESY electric cart? No one. That's who. In the 20 minutes we spent in the store I went from sprained ankle, to blind, to post surgery anesthetic nausea, to just admitting I was being lazy.
I tried to make it look believable at first by stretching my right leg out straight...not sure why I thought that would deter any suspicion...? :/
Does this constitute as drinking and driving? No one was seriously injured, but I wonder had I accidentally ran over a small child if I would have been subject to a breathalyzer?
The best part of this adventure? I blended right in with the trolls of WinCo.
Beer, lemons, and limes.
Shit got real.

It's a 4th of July Miracle!!
Part I
Mac and I went camping to celebrate our independence. We went up to Big Cottonwood Canyon and just set up our lil two person campsite along side a whole bunch of other people ready to enjoy their holiday. Yeah, we went to a campsite....but I don't know if we're savvy enough to survive in the back country QUITE yet ;)We had so much fun. We took off work a little early, and we were all set up and drinking it up by 6pm. Alex forgot a couple of key items:::
First, a bottle opener. His beer wasn't twist off. The night couldn't have been kicked off any better than when he was trying to open his beer using any MacGyver tool he could find. He tried opening it by putting the bottle top on the end of the picnic table and smashing the neck - I guess in theory this should have popped off the top. But it didn't. His immediate response to his fail was "Fuckin Fonzie". I don't know that the situation holds any sort of applicable value for such a statement, but oh gosh it was hilarious. You had to have been there I guess ;)
All struggles in this pic of him trying to start the fire
((((((( I started this fire FYI......)))))
Hottie went and fetched us some fire wood ;)
Forgot another crucial camping item......a mother fcking knife. He Macgyver'd it again, and used a Diet Coke can to cut his wiener!!
Part II
We packed up and went home pretty early on the 4th. On our way home we decided to stop and look at some possible places to move into since it didn't look likely that we were going to be able to fall under any sort of "extenuating circumstance" so that we could get into another home :(
We stopped at this place called Talavera at the Junction. They have adorable town homes....so...
Looked at the 3 bedroom. Thought, wow we def cant afford this ($1600mo), but how would it be? Alex and I are the type of people who are "don't go with the first thing you see" even if it might be amazing. But then we looked at their 2bdrm 2bath town homes. O M G.
Where has this place been all my life? Needless to say, we bought out of our lease at Serengeti and we picked up the keys to our darling lil town home that next Wednesday.
This was our first weekend in our new home.....and I honestly can't remember the last time I felt so excited and happy. This is where we belong for now. And ya know what? I'm 100% ok with it. Yeah, we don't own it...but here we are in a brand new town home that is more than enough room (1200sq ft) for us and our little puppies :) We are the only persons to ever live in this suite, which is comforting knowing there's no previous owner history haha.
I am so proud. It's not the materialistic side of things that matter - but it's the fact that no one but us decided that we wanted to be here. We weren't forced to be here, like we were with the Serengeti apartments. We wanted to be here. This is where we want to be.
I'm so in love with life right now.
Part III
Here are some pics of me and my loves at the games the week of the 4th - I am so sad that the season is almost over....This has been the most amazing summer of my life and I have made some amazing life long friends. I hope that I am lucky enough to come back next year!
Firework time with my fireworks :) :) :) :) :)
Part IV
Some pics of Arianna and me on the 4th of July enjoying the fireworks :) We went to James and Shantelle's for a BBQ with their family. Arianna always has a blast playing with her little cousins. Wow that little girl lights up my life more than what is typical.
Showing her MUSCLES!!!!
Watching Fireworks!!!!!!!!!!
My Firework <3 No one will ever get what this little girl is to me...
